The Rajaraman family wanted a very homely abode in the sprawling Hiranandani Meadows complex in Thane. The design scheme here had to integrate a very traditionally done sitting room, a westernized colorful modular kitchen and contemporary bedrooms all while ensuring nothing looked out of place. Having a large kitchen in Mumbai means having a lot of creative freedom in platform placement and design. The first idea was therefore to have an island platform in the centre of the kitchen. The décor of the sitting area was kept completely traditional with darker tones used on pure teak wood with solid brass fixtures to complement them.
